Speaker Series — Lou Lauria

There has been a slight change in plans — Due to an unforseen conflict, Terrence Burns, President of Helios Partners, Inc. will be unable to attend MarketSmart…But do not fear!  Lou Lauria, Vice President of Helios Partners, Inc. will be taking his place.

Mr. Lauria has over fourteen years of experience working with various Olympic and Paralympic events, including the organizing committees for the 1996 Altanta, 2000 Sydney, and 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games.

Speaking from 9:30am until 10:30am, “Olympic Transformation: Bidding on the Olympic Games,” will focus on what it takes to make a and secure a successful bid to host the Olympic Games.  He will outline what it takes to prepare and execute a successful bidding campaign, as well as dive into the process of constructing branding techinques and preparing a city’s infrastructure to guarantee that the city is ready for such an amazing honor.  Mr. Lauria will touch upon the process of preparation, focusing on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of a project.  Additionally, he will shed light upon what it takes to stand out and achieve your ultimate goal, whatever it may be.

Speaker Series — Dan Ivanoff

Speaking from 10:45am until 11:45am – Dan Ivanoff, Director and Managing Investment Partner of Schnitzer West, will give us the ins and outs of the Construction business.  If you’re ever on the Eastside (Bellevue in particular) you’ll notice massive amounts of construction sprouting up everywhere…cranes left and right.  Schnitzer West is responsible for “The Bravern,” which is the huge complex being constructed on the corner of 8th street and 110th Avenue, housing the new Neiman Marcus, and many, many a new condominium.
